- 简介：StephenArrowsmith(PaulMuller)isascientistwhoisexperimentingwiththepossibilityofregeneratingbloodthroughelectricity,andhishomeandlaboratoryarelocatedinthehomeandlaboratoryofhiswifeMuriel(BarbaraSteele)Ownedcastle.Arrowsmithlaterdiscoveredshewashavingsexwithagardeneranddisfiguredhimwithahotpoker,andburnedMuriel'sfacewithacidbeforebeingelectrocuted.ArrowsmithhidtheirheartsinanurnandusedtheirbloodtorejuvenatetheelderlyservantSolange(HelgaLyne).Later,ArrowsmithrealizedthathewasnotMuriel'sheir,butthattheestatehadbeenwilledtohersisterJenny(BarbaraSteele).JennyismentallyunstableandArrowsmithmarriesher,laterplanningtohaveSolangepushhertotheedgeofsanity.JennybeginstohavenightmaresthatincludethesoundofabeatingheartandMuriel'svoiceurginghertomurderStephen.ArrowsmithtakesJennytoseedoctorDerekJoyce(MarinoMasse),whoisconvincedsupernaturalforcesareatwork.ArrowsmithlaterattemptedtogiveSolangeanotherbloodtransfusion,anddoctorssubsequentlydiscoveredMurielandtheGardener'shiddenhearts.Thetworeturnasghosts,withMurielburningStephenalivewhileDaviddrainsSolangeofherblood,turningherintoaskeleton.TheDoctorandJeanneleavethecastleandthrowthetwoheartstheyfoundintothefire.
